The Brothers Christoph and Peter Eversbusch are the current, sixth-generation owners over their family’s enterprise, founded in Hagen-Haspe in Westfalia in 1780.
Since 1817, following their great-great-great grandfather’s recepie, Eversbusch Doppelwacholder is distilled there and filled in the traditional earthenware bottles. The relationship with the supplier of the juniper berries from Tuscany has also lasted for over four generations, as of now. All this makes this expressive juniper destillate based on a rye spirit a „craft Gin“ from way before the word was coined.
In Peter Eversbusch’s words: “ Of course we could call it a Gin, but that’s just something we haven’t done for the last 200 years.“

This is the 56% vol.alc. overproof „1871“ version, introduced 2017 to celebrate the first 200 years of Juniper spirit production by Eversbusch.
